The developer of iTeleport, a nice VNC-like app for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, just released a free version of the app. The free version allows you to play with the app for 30 days, with the option to purchase it at the end of the month, or buy another 30 days chunk. iTeleport allows you to remotely control your Mac or PC and stream the content of your desktop’s screen directly to your iOS-powered device. The app typically costs $20+. Like other VNC-like apps such as LogMeIn Ignition, iTeleport comes with a Mac and PC app to be installed on the computers you wish to remotely control. Setting up the app is very straightforward, as once the desktop app is installed, the iOS app will automatically detect the computers on your local network, and will offer you to control them. You can also control computers located in a different location, as long as your iOS-powered device has access to an internet connection. The app supports a wide range of operating systems, including OS X, Windows, Linux, and even AMX Touchscreen Interfaces. iTeleport offers a better-than-average interface, and controlling your computer’s mouse and keyboard directly from your iOS-powered device is a breeze. iTeleport can be downloaded here.
