Windows users will be happy to know that the only Windows-compatible iOS 4.3 jailbreak, sn0wbreeze, has been updated earlier today.
The jailbreak is compatible with iPhone 3GS & 4, first generation iPad, and third & fourth generation iPod touch – iPad 2 users will need to wait, as the jailbreak is not compatible with their device.
sn0wbreeze is a tethered jailbreak, which means that each time iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users switch off their device, they will be required to plug it to their computer to be able to restart it. Note that the jailbreak allows you to preserve your unlocked baseband.
The new version of the jailbreak, released by iPhone hacker iH8sn0
w, fixes a slew of bugs, and offers several enhancements over its predecessor, namely the ability to enable multi-touch gestures for multitasking, the inclusion of iBooty and iREB to facilitate the launch of the jailbroken devices, as well as a new version of MobileSubstrate compatible with iOS 4.3.
Since the jailbreak is still at a beta stage, make sure to fully backup your device (including your SHSH blobs) before you even give it a try. The jailbreak can be downloaded here
Even though jailbreaking is considered legal, always keep in mind that Apple sees it as a warranty-voiding act, so do it at your own risk. Please do not use jailbreaks to install copyrighted/paid content you haven’t purchased yourself.
