PopCap’s Games on Sale, Proceeds for Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Funds

Over the last couple of weeks, Japan has been hit by multiple disasters, from earthquakes, to tsunamis. To help rebuild the country, several iOS developers decided to discount their games, and will donate the profits generated from the sales to earthquake and tsunami relief funds. PopCap just joined the effort, and discounted most of its iOS apps for iPhone and iPad, to help raise money for Japan. According to Ellen Marett, Senior Director of Workforce Culture at PopCap, “we recently opened an office in Tokyo, and while our Japan-based employees are safe and uninjured, we understand countless others in Japan need food, shelter, and medical attention. […] Given that Plants vs. Zombies reached rank one on the iPhone and iPad sales charts in Japan, it seemed like the most appropriate game to feature in this fund-raising campaign.” PopCap is the development shop behind popular games such as Plants vs. Zombies.
