If you happen to own an iPad 2, Firemint’s Real Racing 2 HD, and Apple’s digital AV (HDMI) output cable, rejoice, as you will soon be able to play the game on your HDTV at full 1080p – a first in the iOS world. The feature will be made available via an upcoming free update, slated to be available within the next coming days. Real Racing 2 HD is by far the best selling Firemint game on the iPad thus far, thanks to impressive graphics, and an immersive gameplay experience. Firemint already released an updated version of the game when the iPad 2 hit store shelves, to take advantage of the new dual-core PowerVR SGX543MP2 graphics unit featured in the device. However, while the update looked gorgeous on the iPad 2, it did not take advantage of the HD output capabilities offered by the device. With the new update, the iPad 2 doubles as a virtual steering wheel, and all the action is pushed to the screen. According to Firemint, the new version of Real Racing 2 HD will not require any scaling, and will run at full 1080p HD, 30 frames per second.
