Apple launched its first iPad 2 commercial ever earlier this evening, barely three weeks after the launch of the device. While first generation iPad ads used to start with the traditional “iPad is…” tagline, the iPad 2 commercials begin with a new, more personable “This is what we believe…” tagline. The ad highlights the iPad 2’s main selling points, namely its speed, weight, and thinness. As usual, the commercial highlights a slew of iPad apps, including the Video app, AirStrip, iBooks, Mail, Numbers, GarageBand, the Photos app, Intro to Letters, and Mobile MIM. The ad closes with “That’s when you end up with something like this,” to remind buyers that after all, the iPad is truly a magical device.
