Crackle, Sony’s iPhone, iPod touch and iPad app that gives you access to hundreds of movies from Sony Pictures Classics, Columbia Pictures, Screen Gems, Tri-Star, as well as a slew of TV series, just received an update. The update, slated version 1.28, fixes several bugs, and best of all, it brings 20 new TV series to the app. The previous version of the app already offered shows like Seinfeld, Married with Children, and the update adds shows such as Nurse Jackie, United States of Tara, The Borgias, and many others. The app is still free, as it is funded via ads that appear during the video, just like the free version of Hulu. Crackle also offers over 200 movies, such as The Da Vinci Code, Big Daddy, Ghostbusters and Joe Dirt.
Crackle allows you to pause your videos, and resume playback where you left off, even if you leave the app. You can even setup your very own movie queue, to make sure not to miss any of your favorite titles. The app works on both 3G and WiFi, however, if you’re looking for HD videos, you might want to stick to WiFi only.
