Square-Enix, the developer behind smash hits such as the Final Fantasy series, just released a new iOS app earlier today. Called Imaginary Range, the app is an interactive comic book that features a slew of mini-games directly related to the book’s plot. The story is about Cid and Ciela, a duo fighting an army ruled by Omega, an evil mobster trying to destroy France. As you read the book, special items and icons need to be collected, and the mini-games have to be completed, in order to unlock the rest of the story.
The project was overseen by Motomu Toriyama, director of Final Fantasy XIII, and the story was written bySouki Tsukishima, author of the novel Emeth: Ningyo–tsukai no Shima. The art was handled by Toshiyuki Itahana, the main character designer for the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles series.
The app is universal, and is absolutely free. It comes with English, French and Japanese text options. For more details about Imaginary Range, click here.
