Super 8 for iPhone and iPad 2 now Available

J.J. Abrams’s Bad Robot, the company behind the latest Star Trek movie, and a slew of popular TV shows such as Fringe, Lost and Alias, is about to release a new Sci-Fi blockbuster, Super 8, in partnership with Paramount Pictures. For the occasion, the team behind the movie released a dedicated app for the iPhone and iPad 2, designed to emulate a slew of cameras, and add effects to movies taken with iOS devices. The app allows you to make your own vintage movies and add lens, filter and shake effects, arrange clips and scenes the way you want them, and add your own credits. If you’ve never heard about Super 8, the movie is about a group of friends in a small town who witness a catastrophic train crash while making a Super 8 movie. As it turns out, the crash is not an accident, and inexplicable events start to take place. Super 8 is available on the App Store, and is free.
