Fans of the Angry Birds franchise, rejoice, as a new version of Angry Birds Rio just hit the App Store. As usual, the new update brings a slew of additional levels, and this time around, the new levels are beach volley-themed levels. The game now offers more than 70 original levels, and the update also includes a new golden fruit. Just like the previous versions of the game, Angry Birds Rio includes a slew of exclusive achievements, hidden fruits, and for the first time in an Angry Birds game, boss fights. Angry Birds Rio is loosely based on the movie “Rio”, in which two rare birds, Blu and Jewel, are chased by birds smugglers. In the game, the Angry Birds are kidnapped and taken to Rio, Brazil, where they eventually escape their captors and set out to save the movie’s characters. If you already own the game, the update is free. For others, Angry Bird Rio for iPhone and Angry Birds Rio HD for iPad are available on the App Store, for $0.99 and $2.99 respectively.
