The Roberts VII Multimedia Birds of Southern Africa iPad Edition includes all the essential functions and multimedia data of the PC edition, including the comprehensive Roberts VII text, the concise Roberts Bird Guide text, 180 field guide pages, 962 bird pages, 1700 illustrations, 5800 photos, and 920 bird sounds.
The Field Guide displays the full field guide pages of a typical bird book for instant comparison and identification. Use the family list or swipe through the pages, and tap for functions including Bird Page, Play Sound, Add to List and Similar Birds.
The Bird Guide includes a full bird list and individual bird pages for 962 birds. The bird list includes functions for Bird Page, Play Sound, Add to List, Similar Birds and Family Page. The bird pages include illustrations, distribution maps, photos, bird sounds, Roberts Field Guide text and the full Roberts VII text.
Similar Birds loads a list of birds similar to that selected, and displays the bird pages side by side for direct comparison.
My Location is an interactive map for finding your current location, generating bird lists, and locating birding sites near you. Drop pin for a new location to get GPS co-ords, or load a bird list. Tap a birding site to get a bird list or open the site description.
My Lists is a personal list manager that includes a life list and sub-lists that report to your life list. You add to your personal lists from the main bird list, bird page or family page. You can also export and import lists.
Identification uses your location, habitat, bird shapes and plumage to identify a bird. You can also identify bird sounds, nests and eggs.
Birding Sites includes details of 280 birding sites around Southern Africa, with text description, photos, bird list, and weather forecast.
