Google Offering Free Airport WiFi to iOS Users

Google is generous these days, as iOS-powered devices users are currently offered free WiFi at several large airports across the U.S., in exchange for downloading the free iOS Google Mobile app. Users who want to take advantage of the deal only need to access the airport WiFi network with their iPhone, iPod touch or iPad, fire up Safari, and the offer should be available on the default WiFi network webpage. Note that the offer is not enforced very strictly, as once you accept, your internet access will be activated even if you don’t download the app. But the app is actually pretty nice, and it’s free, so giving it a shot won’t hurt. The app allows you to search Google quickly using your voice, your location, or even your pictures, as Google Mobile features Google Goggles, a new service that uses pictures to search the web. The offer is available at most international airport, such as Logan International Airport, or Indianapolis International Airport. This is not the first time Google launches such an offer, as last year, Google already offered free airport WiFi to Nexus One owners for a limited time, and during the last holiday season, the search giant sponsored in-flight WiFi access.
