iPad 2 International Launch – Already Out of Stock in Most Countries

Less than 24 hours after the launch of the iPad 2 in 25 countries across the globe, international buyers are already experiencing iPad 2 shortages, as the device is reportedly out-of-stock in many countries, including United Kingdom, France and Germany. Many international buyers were prepared for the launch, and showed up early at their local stores yesterday, to make sure not come back home empty handed. Just like the U.S. launch, long lines could be seen at most Apple retail locations around the world. As reported by Pocket-lint, the device is out of stock at most retail locations in the United Kingdom, including both Regent Street and Covent Garden Apple stores in London. The stores expect to receive new iPad 2 shipments as early as Monday, but did not confirm how many units will be available for sale. The situation seems very similar in other cities throughout Europe, including Paris, Rome and Berlin. The iPad 2 launched yesterday in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. The device will also be launched in Japan, Singapore, Korea and Hong Kong next month.
