Amazon Cloud Player now Works with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad

Fans of Amazon’s Cloud Player, rejoice, as the online service is now compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. If you’ve never heard about Cloud Player, it is part of Cloud Drive, a web storage service unveiled by Amazon a little over a month ago, that offers 5 gigabytes of storage to its users (by default). Cloud Player allows users to access their music from any computer or iOS/Android device. As of yesterday, if you visit Amazon’s Cloud Player via Mobile Safari, songs can be played directly from the browser, despite a warning page telling you that your browser is not supported.

With Cloud Drive/Player, Amazon beats Apple to the punch, as the Cupertino-based is yet to release its own cloud-based music service, via the upcoming launch of MobileMe 2.0. Best of all, Amazon’s service is free for the first 5 gigabytes of storage.
