hicup is a fun and useful social media app that helps you find people in your neighborhood and beyond who share your interests.

hicup’s location-based technology connects you with people who like the same things you do. Looking for a cycling buddy in your neighborhood? How about making a “pen pal” to chat about theatre in London? Wherever you are and whatever your interests - hicup makes it easy to meet people based on what you have in common. hicup does not require you to create a long detailed profile or share your personal information on other social networking sites.

Finally, a social app built for the way people actually meet in the real world!

The creators, Julie and David are two close friends with a twenty-year history, and they have created a fun and easy way to meet new and interesting people through hicup. Using mobile technology, hicup is based on the way people have always made friends – through what they share in common.

How hicup works…

Find new people you'll like – wherever you are in the world!

•Create a simple hicup profile based on your interests, upload up to 4 photos (pending approval) and share “what you are interested in now”

•Choose up to 7 interests from our 48-hicup interests ranging from "Travel" to "Food & Drink" to "Sports"... These interests can be changed at anytime and will match you to new potential friends within the hicup community.

•Add up to 3 specific interests, for example: NFL, Food Trucks, and TV shows – to find people with your specific interests.

•Filter by a variety of criteria, such as age, gender, hicup interests, specific interests and location - nearest to farthest or by city.


Get to know people before you meet

•Our “link up” feature lets you chat with interesting people so you can connect through the app before you decide if you want to meet in person - or you can simply make a “pen pal” friend.

•Share links and photos (photo’s coming soon) within your chats like recipes, interesting articles, blogs, and new discoveries.

•Profiles are created around your interests, without revealing details that you wish to keep private, like work, family, or relationship status.

•With hicup’s profile and privacy settings, you choose what information you want to share about yourself and when you share it.

•You determine who you want to meet, where you’ll hang out, and when you meet.
