HRV Sense REQUIRES ADDITIONAL HARDWARE

HRV Sense works with:
-For iPhone 4S, 5, 5S, 5C iPad 3 and newer, iPod touch 5 use any Bluetooth Low Energy heart rate monitor chest strap EXCEPT the Wahoo Blue HR*

- For iPad 1 & 2, iPhone 3Gs and 4 and iPod touch 4G and older, use any ANT+ heart rate monitor and the Wahoo Fisica Sensor Key OR any 5.3KHz analog chest strap and the 60Beat iPhone receiver

* While the Wahoo Blue HR works great for heart rate, it does not have the accuracy required for HRV.

The food sensitivity feature uses the built in camera as a heart rate sensor and does not require additional hardware.

HRV Sense has three main components: HRV For Training, Stress Monitoring and Food Sensitivity.

HRV For Training: In competitive sports, improved performance is often affected by alternating periods of intensive training with periods of relative rest. HRV Sense measures HRV, an objective measure of your body’s response to each workout.

Stress Monitoring and Management:
With HRV Sense, you can see your stress levels in real time, giving you the ability to take action to reduce stress. If your chosen stress threshold is reached, HRV Sense’s Relax screen prompts you with a deep breathing screen that includes calming images.

Food Sensitivity:
This feature is used to detect food sensitivities that may contribute to low level inflammation. If you are sensitive to certain foods, you may not experience obvious symptoms, though your body reacts by elevating your heart rate after eating an offending food. It turns out that inflammation is the common link between cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes and obesity in developed nations and thus should be reduced by whatever means available.

Using either HRV Sense’s camera sensor or a compatible heart monitor, HRV Sense monitors your pulse three times after eating and assigns either a red “X” (sensitive) or a green checkmark (not sensitive).
