Indicium is an iPhone app that uses GPS and compass capabilities of the device to help users navigate from current location to selected destination. It can be used as geocaching app, to locate car on a parking lot, to help find way back to a hotel, to find tourist attractions or to point to any place with known geographic coordinates or postal address.
Destinations can be entered as geographic coordinates, address and social network Places and Checkins. Frequently used destinations can be stored for later use.
Navigation options include course pointer that shows direction to the destination independently on rotation of the device, map preview with current location, destination and indication of shortest air travel path. Destination information can be passed to Maps application for turn-by-turn directions.
Supported distance units: Meters/kilometers, miles/feet and nautical miles.
Requires iOS 5 or newer and a device with compass and GPS capabilities.
